Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

I woke up long before sunrise to catch the first train to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. When I arrived, it was still quiet, though a few others had made it there early as well. We exchanged a few words about how unreal the forest looks, and for a moment it felt like we shared a secret. The towering bamboo stretched endlessly upward, and with no crowds yet, I had the chance to take this photo in the calm of the morning.
